According to historical records, block printing has existed in India since the 12th century. Today it continues to be a signature handicraft, and the state of Rajasthan is particularly famous for its block print textiles.
Hand blocking is an ancient method of textile printing, renowned for it's exotic designs in vibrant colours on fabric. In this method, wooden blocks carved with intricate details are used to manually print beautiful designs that usually cover the entire length of a fabric.
Mulmul is a soft and fine weave of cotton which is also known as muslin. It is almost around 100 years ago when Bengali weavers first weaved it. Mulmul cotton fabric was one of the prized imports from India to the lands of England and Scotland.
